Kicking off at 12pm, the parade will see marchers and floats take to the streets of Downtown Vancouver.ĭespite the official 2018 route hasn’t been released yet, the march should follow the usual one. This includes the 35th anniversary of AIDS Vancouver and 20 years of the Rainbow Refuge Society, The Vancouver Sun reports. The initiative is to mark not only 40 years of pride, but for 14 other significant anniversaries for the local LGBTI community. It’s also part of the cities initiative, unanimously passed by the city council, to name 2018 ‘the year of queer.’ The march is the culmination of a week-long festival, bringing together people identifying as LGBTI and allies for more than 50 fun-loving events.
